Numbering themselves by going clockwise, each 7^th person is out and cant be it. In which position (count clockwise from the child designated as #1) does the child who is it stand?

2. If every second person is called out (instead of every 7^th), when there are initially 20 children, where should you stand if you want to be it?

3.If every second person is called out, when there are initially n children, where should you stand if you want to be it? Explore this situation by looking at several cases and identify a pattern.

i) Create an appropriate table or drawing to represent this exploration for n = 1 to n= 6. Clearly explain any patterns you see and represent your solution mathematically.

ii) Create a formula to predict where you should stand to be it for any n. (This might require you to extend your table beyond n=6 to find a solution.)

iii) Use technology to generate the first 40 terms of your pattern and confirm your results in part i).
