Hi Cassandra one advantage of self-service healthcare technology that you did not mention is the patient's ability to request refills their prescriptions online and make appointments without having to spend time calling the office. A disadvantage of self-service technology becoming more common and advanced in the medical field is not everyone is tech savvy and understands how to use a phone or computer to go online to schedule and appointment or make an appointment. A lot of older people like my grandfather refuse to learn to use a smartphone or how to surf the web and would rather do things the "old fashioned" way.
