Hi. Do you mind helping me with this question please? Highlights of the participants to the responses of the questions. Bellow were the questions that were asked each interviewee and answers.
1. In your experience, what motivates your best on the job performance?
The biggest motivator when on the job is having a happy patient who is satisfied with their care and as well as knowing that the patient feels safe
and that they're in good hands.
2. Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond your role and expectations. Why did you do it? What exactly did you do?
The most recent time I can think of going above and beyond my role and expectations is when we had a new hire and he was still trying to
understand everything going on around him you could tell he had questions but didn't want to disrupt the work flow and the patients overall
experience of feeling safe and in competent hands so after the patients surgery was done and the patient was gone I approached the new hire
and asked him if he had any questions about anything and explained everything as thoroughly as possible. I felt like this was going above and
beyond my role because I am not a manager and I don't feel you need to be to teach the new person the ropes as sometimes I feel that new hires
just get thrown into the work without proper explanation and that can be a detriment to the whole team.
3. Covid has changed the way companies are doing business, with so many people working remotely, wearing masks, and social distancing etc. how has communication changed with your and your managers/coworkers? Has this made job performance better/worse and how?
Covid has had a bit of an impact on how communication with my manager happens because we try to limit the amount of group meetings we are
having or how many people attend at a time so sometimes we all don't get to hear our co-worker's ideas and don't get to communicate those at
one time with our manager. I do believe that when we first experienced covid it made the overall job performance worse because there were all
types of new protocols and procedures and without as many group meetings communication was a bit harder. I think now though that time has
gone on and it has been about a year since we first experienced covid communication has become better and we are all on the same page about
the new procedures and protocols it's just the new norm.
4. Think about a time you performed well, what factors went into it?
A time I performed well is during a procedure where the patient was super nervous about being in the OR and since I'm the person who usually
preps the patient, I get to talk to the patient right before they go under the anesthetic and I tried to make that patient feel as safe as possible and
make them feel that they're in competent hands by letting them know more about what is going to happen and who he's surrounded by during
their procedure. The biggest factor that went into this for me is the patient's satisfaction, nothing else if I know that the patient feels safe then I
know that everything is going to go smoothly we can all go home happy knowing that that patient is going to be better than when they came
into the OR
1.In your experience, what motivates your best on the job performance?
The motivation of trying to be better than everyone and push myself to the max. My motivation was being a high school dropout and everyone
saying I was not going to be anyone. I had to prove them wrong therefore I had to push myself and I felt like I had to work twice as hard to get
what I wanted.
2.Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond your role and expectations. Why did you do it? What exactly did you do?
Last year in May at around 6:00pm I twisted my left ankle at work. I couldn't walk properly, but I tried to keep working. I ended up working until
10:00pm when I got home. When I got home, I had to cut my work boot off to get my foot out of it because of how swollen it was. The next day I
went to the hospital and they told me not to work the next three days because I had damaged the tendons in my ankle. Until this day my ankle
still hurts, and I regret not going home when it happened.
3.Covid has changed the way companies are doing business, with so many people working remotely, wearing masks, and social distancing etc., how has communication changed with you and your manager/ subordinates/coworkers. Has this made job performance better/ worse and how?
We each work on our equipment, so Covid-19 did not change much. Therefore, we do not work remotely, practice social distancing, nor do we
wear mask. This is because all the employees work separately, and as mentioned above have our own equipment. The communication between
my boss and coworkers has not change either since we mostly talk through the radios or cell phones. Overall, my job performance has not
change.
4.Think about a time you performed well; what factors went into it?
Last May I worked hard with no days off for a month and a half. As a result, I got a generous bonus, which was worth it and I plan on doing it
ever year.
1.In your experience, what motivates you best on job performance?
The main motivating factor that drives me to perform well is that I am somewhat of a workaholic. I get satisfaction from knowing I did my job to
the best of my ability. I enjoy ending the day knowing that I worked hard and accomplished my tasks.
2.Tell me about a time where you went above and beyond your role and expectations. Why did you do it? What exactly did you do?
My technical job title is inventory clerk manager which is a massive task in itself because I am in charge of keeping 10000's of parts organized. I
am regularly finding myself managing warehouse personal and doing the driver's scheduling even though it is not my responsibility. I do it
because it needs to be done in order keep the warehouse organized and running smoothly. Even though it is not my job sometimes as a manager
I need to step into positions that are not technically mine.
3.Covid has changed the way companies are doing business, with so many people working remotely, wearing masks, and social distancing etc. how has communication changed with you and your managers/coworkers? Has this made job performance better/worse and how?
Covid has not majorly affected our day-to-day tasks other than sometimes wearing a mask in certain places, having employees that need to do
quarantining for 1-2 weeks which makes other have to step up and fill in the voids, and also some parts are harder to get because they are on
back order for longer periods of time.
4.Think about a time you performed well; what factors went into it?
A repeat customer had ordered a part around New Years and our drivers were not working New Year's Eve. At the time we only had one of
these in stock. We had sent it to the customer who was in Emporia by UPS. Only to find out that UPS would not deliver it on New Year's Eve.
This customer really needed this part as soon as possible. So, I called around and found the part at another dealership. I then arranged a special
delivery so the customer would have the part he needed. I could have easily just have said he would have to wait for the part, but I knew I could
do something to solve this issue.
