Hi everyone,

My name is Laurie Rowe. I am new to SUNY Empire, however I am not new to being an online student. I am transferring to SUNY Empire after a year with Purdue Global. My major is Business, Management, and Economics. I am excited to start classes with SUNY Empire and already think I will like this format better.

A little about me: I am currently a Dental Hygienist pursuing a business degree to broaden my career options. I have 2 daughters, ages 8 and 11. I am an avid gardener, I have chickens, and I am also a beekeeper. I currently have 5 beehives.

At Purdue Global I had taken accounting I and II, but the accounting II did not transfer directly to SUNY Empire. I am hoping this class is more of a review for me, but I am also grateful for a refresher before taking more advanced accounting classes.

As far as recent exciting experiences, I really don't have many since I am a full-time working mom and student. My free time is spent on schoolwork and carting my children around to sporting events and 4-H meetings.

I am excited to "meet" you all and get to know you through this course.
