Lewis loves cars very much and is always looking out for latest models of different brand -name cars . He recently bought an electric supercar , Model F X 1 . from Future X a company based in Germany . The sale brochure of Model FX I stated that he car had the following features : 0 - 100 : 600s ; top speed : 130 mph range of 100 miles ( i .e . the car could go around for 100 miles on a fully charged battery ) , with a price tag of HIS1 5 million Lewis went to the factory of Future X in Germany in December 2017 and did a test drive of Model FX I there . He immediately placed an order for the car with the HIK office of Future X after coming back It took more than six months for Lewis ' car to be manufactured and it was already summer 2018 when it arrived . Lewis was cally excited and drove the car around a lot especially during the weekend . However , after a week , Lewis discovered tha he car could only run for about 50 miles before the battery went flat and had to be recharged . He called Future X which agreed to do a check of Lewis ' car and have the battery of his car replaced for free if found to be faulty While the car was with Future > for checking Lewis was told by his friends that rumours had it that the battery of Model F X I was not designed for use in the hot weather in Asia , and its performance could be adversely affected by high temperature Future * had the battery of Lewis car replaced with a new one and called him to arrange for re- delivery of the car . When Lewis asked Future * what the problem had been with the original battery , Future X refused to explain for the reason that the onstruction of the battery was a trade secret Lewis was worried that the problem with the battery would come back again and wanted to reject the car , get back the price paid , and buy another electric car from another brand instead . Lewis approached your firm for advice . Your superior asked you to conduct research and write a legal memorandum specifically on the issue of whether Lewis could reject the car and the legal basis for your views ( Note : you are not required to discuss any potential issue of misrepresentation or whether Lewis could claim damages instead . )
