Hi I need help with this questioin:

Marilyn Smith and John Taylor work at Alumexa, a furniture manufacturer who builds limited numbers of very high-quality furniture pieces. Alumexa's customers include many wealthy individuals and corporations who value the status and prestige that comes with owning Alumexa furniture. Alumexa earned its superior reputation by insisting on sourcing only the best quality, sustainably sourced raw materials from the most reputable suppliers. And it is not uncommon for Alumexa to reject shipments of raw materials that do not meet their exacting standards. Consequently, production sometimes stalls when supplies do not arrive on time.

Marilyn is head of the commercial division and John runs the consumer sales unit. Marilyn and John are self-managed and are responsible for managing all projects and determining which division receives which resources. It is not uncommon for Marilyn and John to have heated discussions about who will get the sometimes-limited supplies of raw materials for their respective projects. The Vice-President to whom they reported had recently retired, and it was general knowledge that one of them would be promoted to fill his role before the end of the year, pending the results of their year-end reviews. Both employees are competent, hard-working, and equally qualified to fill the role.

Marilyn is currently overseeing an order for the office and board room of the CEO of a Fortune 500 company and John is managing an order for the home of an A-list Hollywood celebrity; each project is worth over $1 million. Each client is expecting shipment of their furniture before the end of the year but there are only enough raw materials to ensure that one project be completed in time.

John knows that if he delivers his project first, he will almost certainly be promoted. He plans to meet Marilyn to try to negotiate who will get the limited raw materials for their project, and he will stop at nothing to win his point.

a) Negotiators who are considering the use of deceptive tactics should ask themselves three questions to evaluate the desirability of the tactic. List the questions that John should ask himself and respond to each question from John's point of view. What possible impact could his use of deception (in order to "win" the negotiation) have long-term?

b) How could Marilyn prepare for the upcoming meeting with John, knowing that he would do whatever to win his point? Be specific and provide concrete examples of what she could do or say to ensure that he does not dominate the conversation.
