I was thinking about Patagonia also, they are a great company. I see their customers as committed and they do not make a compromise. A friend of mine is working for Arc'teryx and he can offer 'friends pricing' for their products. But my friends who are Patagonia customers would rather pay more for the products than buy from Arc'teryx, even if the price would be better. When one starts reading more about Patagonia it is easy to follow their lead and allow yourself to buy a jacket that probably will last a lifetime. Knowing that your funds go towards protecting the environment and making a change with innovation is much more appealing than giving more money to a giant company that does not invest in CSR. This is why some people moved away from Arc'teryx which is no longer a Canadian-owned company but is owned by Anta Sports a Chinese retailer. It is (Morin, 2020; Miller, 2023).
