Hi i'm in the hospital, I had major heart surgery and I am feeling horrible. I need help with this please. My professor wanted me to do over "Title page", Problem(s) statement, Literature review, Research question and hypothesis.
It's on, Relationship between video gaming and sleep!
More information is below.
Methods
Participants
Participants are graduate's male and female different age groups. data collected and entered in SPSS.
Materials
The study utilized a survey to investigate the relationship between video gaming and sleep. The survey aims to collect data on participants' gaming habits, sleep patterns, and perceived sleep quality.Materials was used through Qualtrics for this study that I utilized through SNHU, this is how I put together my results.
Methodological Procedures
Data collection involved the distribution of surveys to participants. The survey comprises questions on average daily gaming hours, the time gaming is stopped, difficulties falling asleep after gaming, changes in sleep patterns, overall sleep quality, use of "night mode" or blue light filters, feelings of restlessness or increased alertness, delayed bedtime due to gaming, impact on daytime functioning, and frequency of vivid dreams or nightmares after gaming before bedtime.
Raw Data descriptive statistics
Data was collected from the survey, and was put into SPSS, to analyze the results. All responses were recorded, all participants' responses were recorded. This data does not violate ethical standards.
Statistical test used (e.g., t-test, correlation) this test is most appropriate for analyzing my data compared to other possible tests. Key variables for which I'm providing descriptive statistics (e.g., mean and standard deviation for hours of gaming and sleep quality).
Hypotheses and Analysis Findings:
Hypotheses:The null hypothesis (H0) posits no significant relationship between video gaming habits and sleep quality among graduates of various age groups.
Analysis Findings:Our analysis, employing correlation tests in SPSS, revealed a statistically significant negative correlation between average daily gaming hours and perceived sleep quality (r = -0.25, p < 0.05). Participants reporting higher daily gaming hours tended to experience lower sleep quality. Additionally, a t-test indicated a significant difference in sleep quality between participants using "night mode" or blue light filters and those who did not (t(198) = 2.16, p < 0.05), suggesting a potential moderating effect.
Discussion
Summary of Results:In summary, our findings reject the null hypothesis, indicating a significant relationship between video gaming habits and sleep quality among graduate participants.
Strengths of the Research:Our study benefited from the standardized data collection process facilitated by Qualtrics, ensuring data integrity and consistency. Adherence to APA standards maintained the rigor and reliability of our study. Furthermore, the inclusion of diverse age groups among graduate participants enhances the generalizability of our findings.
Limitations:While providing valuable insights, our study has limitations to consider. The predominantly single-institution sample may limit the generalizability of our results. Additionally, self-reporting bias inherent in survey responses may impact the accuracy of our findings.
Future Research:Our study identifies several areas for future exploration. Investigating specific gaming genres or platforms' impact on sleep quality could provide deeper insights. Moreover, exploring different age demographics within graduate populations may uncover nuanced relationships between gaming habits and sleep.
Addressing Limitations:Future research initiatives should focus on addressing the identified limitations. Collaborative efforts across multiple educational institutions would ensure a more diverse participant pool. Incorporating mixed methods approaches, combining surveys with objective measures, may enhance the accuracy of sleep pattern assessments and mitigate potential biases associated with self-reported data.
Conclusion:In conclusion, our study contributes to the growing body of literature on the relationship between video gaming habits and sleep quality among graduate populations. By adhering to rigorous research standards and identifying avenues for future investigation, we aim to advance understanding and inform interventions aimed at promoting healthy gaming behaviors and sleep hygiene.
APA standards making sure to adhered to rules and ethical codes.
