Problem I: Consider the transportation problem having the following parmeter table: (a) Formulate this problem as a transportation problem by constructing the appropriate parameter table. (b) How much should be shipped from cach source to each of the destination to minimize the total shipping cosf? (c) Cumment on the distribution. Problem 2: Three refineries with deily capacities of 6,5 , and 8 miltion gatlons, respectively, supply throe dietribution areas with daily demands of 4,8 , and 7 million gallons, respectively. Gasoline it tranaported to the three distribution areas through a network of pipelines. The transportation cost is 10 cents per 1000 gallons per pipeline mile. Table 5.7 eives the milese betwees the refineries and the distribution areas. Refinery 1 is not connected to diatnition area 3 . (a) Cosstruct the asociated transportation model.
