Is it a good idea to compare ratios of Walmart and Nordstrom? What would be better?

So I asked a coursehero person and they said that it's a bad comparison and its better to compare Nordstrom and Target.

Now, my professor asked if I could elaborate and provide a reason on why do I think it's better to compare ratios on Nordstrom and Target rather than Nordstrom and Walmart.

Honestly, I don't know what to say. Please help me elaborate on this.
