Is comparing ratios of Walmart and Nordstrom a good idea?

What would be a better idea?

So I asked someone here on Coursehero and they explained that it's not a good idea and that a better idea would be Nordstrom and Target.

I went along to my professor and posted this information. Now, my professor is asking for me to elaborate on why I think it's better to compare Nordstrom and Target.

What can you say to help me elaborate on this?
