Hiring decisions-
As a project manager it is very important to choose your team wisely for the most effective and highly functioning team possible. Project managers must decide who and why is right for the role as well as maintaining the role. For example, providing efficient resources and protocols in place, therefore the members are able to perform to their best ability and with the necessary resources need to function well as a team. Many factors come into play when seeking and training professionals for a project. I have chosen 10 tools and skills which can be used to ensure a team succeeds. Collaboration to begin because without working together a team cannot function well. Teams need to work together to understand how to create the best project together. This goes directly with teamwork because collaboration is more than just working well, but also being a team player. This means helping our team when needed and considering everyone's insight. This cannot happen without proper communication, which is essential for the team as well as the manager themself. Time management is important for the sake of deadlines and getting work done in a timely manner to make space for other projects and business aspects necessary for success. Leadership is essential to give a project a sense of control. Organization helps keep a project in order and everyone in the loop. Problem solving can help get through the inevitable issues which arise with groups of people when coming together for a group activity. Critical thinking is great for last minute changes and situations which we cannot always control. Adapting to new environments and situations we are being handed is extremely important in project management. Last conflict resolution which can be due to team disagreements, failures and much more which can be worked on. Each of these plays a significant role in project development and without one succeeding you will find the others to lack as well. I find the most important thing to be communication. This allows all members of the project to work well together and stay on the same page. Management can make necessary changes when communication is transmitted well and create an open healthy space. Ideally the most efficient team I would look for would be those who have compassion, great attendance, are well spoken, and adaptable. This allows a form of flexibility for the members, therefore hopefully creating a certain level of satisfaction to provide their best work. I certainly plan to be as thorough as possible and not just search for the skills but show them myself. It is important to not only delegate, but "walk the walk" to give an ideal team a mentor or positive role model to learn from. Skills must be kept up to date, therefore critical thinking can assist in this method to be prepared for any situation at hand.
