Histologically confirmed cases of colorectal adenoma were randomly assigned to a treatment group (low-fat, high-fiber diet) or a control group (regular diet). Participants were screened for new occurrences of colon polyps over the next 4 years. The mean number of new polyps by the end of the follow-up period was notsignificantly different.
