Hog farms in this state are a source of pollution to our rivers and groundwater. Obviously, the polluted rivers are degraded for other purposes. Many of these farms are contract operations for corporations such as Smithfield. The author describes three ways to motivate such operators to upgrade their facilities in order to reduce pollution. In addition, there is the ultimate remedy of simply placing a moratorium on the growth of this industry. Choose one of these four options: regulation,Corrective taxes, tradable pollution permits, or outright prohibition regardless of opportunity costs. Propose your approach to the problem, or counter someone else's approach.
