How can I respond to these statements?

1. If we ever found alien intelligence it could provide us the opporunity to find answers to the galaxy that we could never obtain on our own. It could also potentially give us access to technology that enables us to travel in the universe like never before. The scary part is we don't know if they would be friendly or dangerous.

2.Despite the fact that is exciting to think about, and the development of technology is growing quickly, I do not think it is a good idea to look for alien life and communicate with them. I am of the belief that if there is alien life out there, then they know we exist, and if they have not contacted us yet it is for a reason. I don't think that we are prepared societally for that type of connection or interaction with extraterrestrial life. I think it would be too much for us to handle.
