when someone is convicted they are taken into custody where a judge will tell them what they are being charged with and whether they are going into jail or not. When the convict is taken into custody or put in jail they don't exactly have rights other than not being able to be miss treated. Usually when they convict a person gets the verdict overturned is because of a bad search or a bad arrest although, it doesn't necessarily mean the person is innocent. A Habeas Corpus is used to make sure the inmates arrest was done legally instead of illegally. Personally no I haven't heard of anybody that has been convicted and had the verdict overturned.
