How Do Environmental Issues Affect My Life?

.Overview: After reviewing the major global environmental issues facing us today, you will relate these issues to your everyday life and prepare a slide deck (presentation) using Power Point.

Title: How do environmental issues affect my life?

1. Use your phone or camera to take five (5) images of examples of environmental issues in your life.

a. For example, you could take a picture of your car/bus and relate it to oil consumption and climate change. You could take a picture of your computer and discuss the mineral resources needed to make it. As you can see, it may an issue we have already discussed or another environmental issue you are aware of.

b. Be sure to include things that affect you personally and things that will affect you professionally after you graduate. Each example can be either or both.

3. Design a PowerPoint slide deck (presentation) incorporating your photos as images. Do not use images from the Internet. Use your own.

4. Ensure that your slide deck contains:

c. a title slide (course code and title, your name and student number, title of your presentation)

d. an overview slide describing how environmental issues affect your life e. five (5) body slides, each containing one of the images that you took

f. a few sentences or points per photo slide identifying why or how the images relate to environmental issues (use course content for info and key terms).

g. A few sentences or points per photo slide linking each picture to your personal and/or professional life

h. a conclusion or summary slide about our rights and responsibilities when considering these environmental issues (this can be more than one slide if necessary) i. use key terms and concepts from the course when possible (e.g. climate change, greenhouse gases, peak oil, water quality, etc.)
