How do I reply to this classmate please?

Job-order costing is the best method to use when costs and production of a product are very specific to that individual unique product. The material and labors costs can be traced to the final product.Process costing method is the best system when there is a standardized process in manufacturing of same identical products, products that are manufactured in batches.Job-order and process costing systems have the same basic purposes. Both systems assign material, labor, and overhead costs to products which will allow for calculating the per unit product cost. Both systems use the same basic manufacturing costs, including manufacturing overhead, raw materials, work in process, and finished goods. The differences in the two systems is that in the job order costing, product costs are traced and recorded for each job's separate job cost sheet, while in process costing the costs are traced to each department.Unit costs in the job order costing method are calculated using the job cost sheet whereas in the process costing method the unit cost is calculated using the departmental costs and the number of units produced. The finished good inventory includes the completed products but does not include those not sold in job order costing system. In process costing method the finished good inventory is the number of units completed at the per unit cost.In a job order costing system and process costing systems the events that effect the assets and stockholder's equity are reflected on the income statement. In a job order costing system if a product costs a certain amount to make and the amount it sold for can add to the asset of the company or depreciate the assets of the company. In the process costing system the per unit price is traced to calculate if there was a gain or loss in assets.
