How do you believe you can live by your own set of values and standards and still be sensitive to the needs of other important people in your life?

Does my answer reflect the question?

I'm a very sensitive person, so living by my values and standards has always been difficult because I was such a people-pleaser. Now, when it comes to my own standards and values, I stand by them without damaging those around me or setting boundaries. Self-reflection and being honest from the start can prevent any misunderstandings. When we understand our values, we can express them and hope that they are being listened to. In return, we can act upon other people's values with respect. Sometimes it does require a little negotiation and compromise to find common ground. When I feel like some people are overstepping, I kindly remind them of my standards, and we can talk about how we can better understand each other by respecting each other's values.
