How much is your loyalty worth?

Customer service is all around us. Most of us engage in customer service activities of some type during our normal daily routines at work. All of us encounter customer service when we go to the store, call a company on the phone, or visit a business's website.

However, simply being exposed to customer service doesn't mean you understand how to do it well or how to evaluate whether you are receiving an acceptable level of customer service. One objective of this course is to help you understand what customer service is and how to make it better whether you do it for a living or deal with it at a consumer level.

Assignment Instructions (no word count minimum):

Select one business you shop at frequently. Calculate the approximate amount of revenue you have generated for that business since you first became a loyal customer.

For example Amazon... perhaps you can go back into your order history and add up all of your receipts since you first became a customer.

This is supposed to be a fun eye-opening activity. You do not need to add references. You may comment on other students' posts, but it is not required for this assignment.

Simply state the business you shop at frequently, how long you have been shopping with them, the approximate amount that you have spent since the start of the customer-provider relationship, and if you have recommended friends and/or family who also shop there.

Discuss your findings. You will use this information again in module 5.
