how to reply to this post?I believe the law, as it is written is a thorough way to make sure that officers can keep people safe but not to extremities. I think this law is extremely necessary, as it protects people who are being arrested as well. Not everyone who gets arrested will be charged and prosecuted for the crimes, so laws need to be put in place to protect them. I believe that the law leaves a lot up to the determination of the officer. While that can be problematic at times, maybe a situation seems out of control when it isn't, I don't see any other way to do it. There are so many different scenarios that it is impossible to cover them all. Therefore I think it is the best way to train and trust the officers to make the right decision in certain scenarios. While the officers may consider deadly force if the suspect is trying to run and has committed a deadly or violent crime, as well as when they pose a danger to the officers themselves or other people, a reasonable citizen would not be allowed to use deadly force. In cases where a suspect is running from police, citizens should not try to stop the suspect, especially using deadly force, whether or not their crime is violent
