How to respond to the following DQ answer.? Do you agree?
As I ponder Einstein's statement, "Innovation is not the product of logical thought, although the result is tied to logical structure," I visualize innovation in Einstein's mind the same way a worm hole in described in the movie Interstellar (2014). In the video clip provided, a worm hole is shown to "...bend space...so you can take a short cut through a higher dimension." Using this explanation, coupled with what I know of Einstein, we arrive at the conclusion that innovation is like a worm hole: creators (people) take processes, procedures, and existing products (the logical structures) and bend them. For creators, bending structures is an exhilarating experience, even though bending these structures seems as illogical as the idea of bending space.
I have researched two colleges for the assignments in this class: a (formerly) for-profit and a non-profit. Both were innovative in Education (in their own way) and bent structures to create opportunities for learners to access learning opportunities. One of the colleges pioneered online education in Arizona and the other restructured the organization financially to save it from bankruptcy. I am eager to see where each of these colleges are in the next 10 years and wonder if their will continue to be innovative or return to the more traditional structures Education is known for.
