How to respond to the following DQ answer. Do you agree?
There are always serval challenges people run into when operating in a strategic planning session. The first challenge is getting people or the organization as a whole to accept the need for change. Most people hate change, even if it is required, it breaks up routine, and puts people out of their comfort zone. The benefits most always out weigh these issue, but the first step is acknowledgement, and buy-in.
Once the buy in and advantages of change are identified, the next step is getting both formal and informal leaders throughout the organization involved in the strategic planning process. This aids in multiple areas including showing the workforce it is THEIR plan, not just some CEO or CFO that hasn't worked the floor positions in decades. This will help progress the strategic plan greatly. When teams have a feeling they helped create the change or success, their commitment to the end objective is almost limitless. My organization has annual strategic planning meetings as well as quarterly committee meetings that help carry out the tactics level objectives. These meetings are critical to identify ow close or far we are from meeting benchmarks. These meetings also helps us monitor morale and effort placed into the end objectives. Most organizations have lots of "idea" people, but not lot of finishers. Good leaders will evaluate and always keep motivation of the teams and workers as a priority."Happy employees are productive employees"(Sinek, 2019).
