The thing that has the greatest impact for innovative success in an organization is the drive to be an innovative company. At my company for example, there are some large general goals for innovation to improve sustainability in our country's waste management process, but in my department in Talent Acquisition, ideas get halted before they are ever really considered out of resistance to innovation. According to Christensen (2020), even large companies can change their DNA to become more innovative by creating an innovation strategy, designing an innovation system, and having an innovation culture. The innovation culture specifically would allow people to feel more comfortable and excited about sharing their ideas and trying new things, even things that wouldn't necessarily cost money to improve our recruiting practices. However, things have been done this way for so long that leaders are very resistant to change and people are leaving to work for competitors. By creating small project teams or being more welcoming to new ideas, so much more could get done because everyone is eager to get the chance to help out and say they were able to be a part of the change.
