How to respond to the following DQ answer

Ed Whitacre was CEO of AT&T, successfully led GM out of bankruptcy, and then launched the largest IPO in history (Vozza, 2013). He started his career working summer jobs for southwestern bell that was owned by AT&T. He was hired as an Industrial Engineer after college, kept moving up within the company, and was promoted to head Southwestern Bell's Kansas Division, leading them through the break-up of the Bell System (Vozza, 2013).In 1988, for his outstanding work and leadership ability,Whitacrewas made president and chief operating officer at Southwestern Bell, which later became SBC Communications, and finally AT&TInc. (Mind Tools, n.d.).After17-yearsas AT&T chairman, CEO, and president, Whitacre announced his retirement in 2007 until GM brought him back into the workforce to turn thingsaround after its bankruptcy. He served as CEO of GM from 2009-2010. According to Vozza (2013), he streamlined the company's holdings, sold Saab, and canceled large projects that were set to begin. Ed Whitacre was able to launch GM's biggest IPO in history at $23.1 billion. He stepped down in September 2010 after what he said as "returning GM to greatness" (Vozza, 2013, p. 3), and successfully changed the course of the company.

What resonates for me with Ed Whitacre was that he started as a bright college student, taking summer jobs at the company, and worked his way up. He wanted to work with people after realizing he didn't care for engineering. He pursued his passion and used his talents. During an interview (https://youtu.be/10RXR0Aa-yk) Whitacre said that he likes the feeling of helping people, and that when people get together and work together, they feel good about themselves and they feel successful. His people skills brought him to meet Steve Jobs, President Obama, and Nelson Mandela. Whitacre relates to people being successful.

Ed Whitacre was a transformational leader. He had integrity, high emotional intelligence, authenticity, and humility, he was able to motivate people with a shared vision of the future. Transformational leaders communicate well, and inspire their team members because they expect the best from everyone, while holding themselves accountable for their actions (Mind Tools, n.d.). They set clear goals which leads to high productivity and engagement
