how to respond to this discussion let's be fair in the sense that not all team sports are actually a team sport all the time. for example, I played semi-pro basketball for a couple of years. basketball is a team sport, but we all know that in this sport it can be taken over by a single player who has more skill than the rest of the players on the court. LEBRON, JORDAN, etc. The whole game is a team sport but one player can dominate a quarter or a whole half of a game. so to answer the question at hand I would say the correct answer, if there is such a thing would be statement number two. "Team cohesion leads to better performance, which leads to more satisfaction. In a true team sport like football, this statement would ring true because you can't win a football game unless everyone does their job in their positions. From a Coaching perspective, I believe this statement also to be true. now If you are a star player for a team, if you are the focus point of your team then maybe the first statement is more for you.
