How to respond to this post. Transfer students often face debt and more classes. This amounts to $6 Billion in wasted tuition. I have had the experience of transferring to 3 different Universities, before finally getting close to finishing my Bachelors here at UMGC. I finally enrolled at UMGC because the last University took too long to do course equivalency for my transfer credits. By far, that institution was one of the worst interactions I've had with organizations. Transfer Credit Equivalency is essential to a student's enrollment and registration. Without naming institutions, I will say that this process is often mismanaged, is tedious, and appears to be almost done inefficiently on purpose, forcing students to unnecessarily pay for more classes. Assuming that the gross inadequacies of most institutions to process and approve transfer credits are unintentional, I see a vast need for improvement in this area. The touchpoint where I see the most improvement in one system I recently had experience with was between myself as a student, the academic advisor, and other college departments.
