Harris Funeral Homes, once she disclosed her desire to come to work dressed as a woman and not as a conforming cisgender male, it seems as though her employer's decision was blatantly discriminatory. It would truly have been a landmark if Stephen's employer had chosen to acknowledge and support her, but instead the situation has led to a bigger conversation about sexual discrimination against LGBTQ persons and the need for more protective rights in the workplace that are just as broad as those who identify within those communities."
