How to turn the following list: gen = ["f", 'M', "female", "Male", "male", "F", "m", "m", "male", "Female", "x"] to [0, 1, 0, 1, 1, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0] where 0 represents females and 1 representing males and other element not in the gen list is invalid.

P.S Avoiding using one line of this code: if i=='f' or i =='F' or i== 'female' or i== 'Female', any other method? Please only use basic python.
