power is restored. If the Master Start is not ON, the Emergency Stop pushbutton lamp should flash ON and OFF at a rate of 1 second ON and .5 seconds OFF. The E-Stop pushbutton lam should be OFF if the Master Start is ON. When the Master Start is ON, the 2 position selector switch (SS-1) determines whether the machine is in Manual (SS-1 OFF) or Automatic (SS-1 ON) mode. Whe the machine is in Manual Mode, the blue lamp should flash ON and OFF at the rate of 1.5 seconds ON and 2.25 seconds OFF. When the machine is in Automatic Mos the blue lamp should be ON. In Manual Mode, green pushbutton PB-3 will lamp test the machine. While PB-3 being pressed, the green PB-3 lamp and all of the light box lamps should turn O In Manual Mode, when PB-3 is released the seven lamps (starting with the leftmost light box lamp) should turn OFF in a sequence corresponding to "shave and a haircut two bits". In Automatic Mode, pressing PB-3 should cause the green lamp on PB-3 to turn ON and remain ON until red pushbutton PB4 is pressed or the machine Master Start is turned OFF. If this lamp is ON when power fails, it should be OFF when power is restored. When PB-3 is first pressed (in Automatic Mode only), the red lamp on the control box should turn ON for 5.125 seconds to warn that the machine is getting ready to start. After the delay, the red lamp should turn OFF. After the warning delay, the light box lamps (starting with the leftmost lamp) should turn ON in sequence to "shave and a haircut two bits". Because there are only six lamps, all of the lights should turn OFF during the "bits" time period. The machine should continue to repeat this sequence in Automatic Mode. A counter should increment at the end of each sequence (when all of the lights turn OFF). The counter should only increment when the machine is in Automatic Mode. After the 5th complete machine cycle, the amber lamp should turn ON, the machine should stop sequencing, and the PB-3 green lamp should turn OFF. The black pushbutton should reset the counter and enable the machine to be restarted (by pressing PB-3). Set up a timer to track the total amount of time that the machine has been running in Automatic Mode so that maintenance can be performed on a routine basis. When the machine has run for 3 minutes and 14 seconds, the red lamp (LT-3) should turn ON and remain ON until maintenance has been performed (the maintenance timer has been reset). When maintenance is required, a machine sequence that is currently in progress should be allowed to finish. However, you should not be able to start a new sequence (by pressing PB3 ) if maintenance is required. To reset the maintenance time, press the black reset button while the Master Start is OFF. power is restored.
