Looking into a potential employees credit history could result in unethical hiring practices per the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. If this credit report is used in an unethical way or is not necessary for the position sought after, then this could put the business in a legal bind. Other methods of screening for ethical employees may involve the use of social media as well.
