kinovea cant be downloaded on macbooks - so please if you cant get it dont attempt.

use knowledge in Kinovea toanalyze the power and mechanical energy of three snatch attempts during an Olympic weightlifting event.

At this point you should have a moderate level of skill using Kinovea for motion analyses. Therefore, you will be allowed a greater level of freedom and creativity to generate this report. Some steps and requirements are provided below. Beyond those, it is up to you!

1. Using the following video (click here to download it from the DriveLinks to an external site.): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oMzKfKsswOHZyBxw9CQFqjv4yFPNON3B/view?usp=sharingLinks to an external site.

2. Identify the 3 lift attempts and crop the video accordingly.

3. Identify an item on screen that can have a known measurement and you can use to set the scale of measurements.

4. For every attempt, identify the important keyframes that you will need to calculate the following for all 5 phases of the lift (Phases of the Snatch: https://thetraininggeek.net/blog/2014/01/03/presenting-the-5-phases-of-the-snatchclean-in-weightlifting)Links to an external site.

--> The amount of keyframes may vary between phases. Ideally, keyframes should contain enough information between them to allow an adequate analysis of the movement (you will need to use your best judgement here).

  • Power
  • Kinetic Energy
  • Potential Energy
  • Work done

5. Report the values you have measured/calculated on a table.

6. Generate a graph containing each measurement and add it to your report.

7. Remember to attach the keyframes to your report also!

8. Write 1-2 paragraph discussing the lift, the phases, and the variables. Is there anything interesting that we can see between attempts? Or between phases?
