Activity 1-2: Matching a Position-Time Graph Please using the following physics PhET Simulation, "The Moving Man" , to complete this activity. When you have the PhET open, please make sure to click on the tab at the top "Charts" so you can see graph outputs. Click the "minus" signs on the velocity and acceleration graphs to remove them, our focus is the position-time graph. By clicking on and dragging the person at the top of the simulation make an attempt to use the simulation to recreate the position-time graph below. It might take some practice to get used to the simulation, but do your best to replicate the motion. 20- 1.5 1.0 0.6- Time (2) 15 Graph 1-1 Submit your best attempt to replicate the above graph. Question 1-3 What was the difference in the way you moved to produce the two differently sloped parts of the graph you just matched? Question 1-4 What did you find most challenging in ensuring that the motion you reproduced matched with the graph displayed above? Activity 1-3 Non-Linear Position-Time Graphs Please use the same simulation PhET "The Moving Man" a to complete this activity. When you have the PhET open, please make sure to click on the tab at the top "Charts" so you can see graph outputs. Click the "minus" signs on the velocity and acceleration graphs to remove them, our focus is the position-time graph. Attempt to create a curved position-time graph like each of three shown below. GRAPH A GRAPH B GRAPH C Position Positi Time Time Time Question 1-5 Briefly describe how you moved the person in the simulation to generate each of the above graphs. Question 1-6 What is the general difference between motions that result in a straight-line position-time graph and those that result in a curved-line position-time graph
