Organization names

Pay attention to the names of the gay and lesbian rights organizations mentioned in Stand Together(you'll see them on screen and hear them as well). What do you notice about how the names of the organizations change over time? Please be specific. What social changes do these name changes reflect?

Answer: The names of gay and lesbian organizations usually consist of the word ''Gay'' or refer to only ''homosexuals'' like the gay alliance towards equity (gate), community homophile association etc. The name did not give a sense of inclusion to other queer sexualities like pansexuals, transgenders, two spirits etc but during this modern age every queer sexuality was included in one word which is "LGBTQ'' there are organizations like the international LGBTQ organization, political focused LQBTQ organizations etc.

Organizations that has the LGBTQ name is welcoming to all queer sexualities, it makes everyone inclusive and easily breaks it down to those people who are ignorant. If the name LGBTQ did not come up, those queer genders wouldn't have a community they can relate with.
