Once you have done these things, please respond to the following questions. Be sure to post your original response as well as responding to at least 2 of your classmates, as I want these forums to be discussions.
1. After watching the video of Sternberg discussing his experience with intelligence tests and his work on intelligence, discuss how you think his experience might have led him to develop the triarchic theory of intelligence.
2. In chapter 7 the textbook author discusses the concepts of "reliability" and "validity" (see section 7-5d in the textbook...page 196 if you have a hard copy of the book). The term "reliability" refers to how consistent a test is, whereas the term "validity" refers to how well a test is measuring what it is supposed to be measuring. (You should also read my notes on this in the Chapter 7 Lecture Notes). Based on Sternberg's experience with intelligence tests as a child and his later remarkable academic success, what does this suggest about the reliability and/or validity of standard intelligence tests?
3. After reading about the different theories of intelligence discussed in the textbook, which one do you think is the one that best explains what intelligence is? Provide reasons for your opinion.
