McDonald's Corporation is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 33,000 local restaurants serving more than 64 million people in 118 countries each day. Around the world, inclusion and diversity at McDonald's means providing equal opportunities for everyone to succeed and contribute. McDonald's accomplishes this in a number of ways, such as the integration of diversity initiatives into their daily business practices, a strong diversity education curriculum, employee business networks, and external partnerships with diverse national organizations. More than 60 percent of McDonald's home office and U.S.company workforce are of a racial or ethnic minority, or are women. In addition, approximately 45 percent of McDonald's U.S. franchise owners are women and minorities. The heart of the McDonald's organization is in providing doorways of opportunities and growth for team members from diverse backgrounds and communities locally - and internationally. Respecting, listening to and participating in knowledge-sharing helped the organization to be where it is today - from the crew members to the board members. Another important area for concern of the management of McDonald's is integrating the employees coming from different social and cultural backgrounds into working groups and teams who can perform effectively. According to Wildersmuth and Gray, (2005) employees or individuals from different social and cultural situation will face difficulties while integrating together and their performance at work would depend on the levels of integration on a team level. The store level staff of McDonald's needs to be integrated as a team and they should also be able to understand each other in order to function effectively. Due to the different cultural backgrounds from which the individuals come from, there is a tendency for the employees to group into homogenous bunches. In other words employees coming from same social and cultural background or nationality would form their own groups and they are not able to integrate into a single homogenous group which is able to perform efficiently. Due to such differentiation in integration, tensions and conflicts arise between groups and individuals from different cultural, social and national differences. Such kind of conflicts and tensions within the store level staff of McDonald's even though not visible to the outsider it was a source of permanent non-performance from the part of the store level staff. 1- Identify all diversities existing in McDonald's and explain how Mc Donald Management is handling well the minorities integration 2 Suggest to McDonald's Manages a policy of 5 clauses that help them managing such diversities
