Think about some recent situations in which others tried to influence you. What were they trying to accomplish and how did they go about it? Were they successful? If so, why were they successful? What was it about the person, your relationship with that person, or the way the person approached you that you found compelling or persuasive?

In other words, why did you say yes? If the influence attempt failed, why did you say no?
