I am a leader of a public health team in my organization. My team is composed of both clinical and nonclinical staff. Lately, I have noticed tension in the team between the two groups and I am working to address this issue. In addition, the leadership team has asked me to propose a team-building activity for the team.

• Describe a team-building activity and the performance problems it is intended to address. What are the expected outcomes? What levels of approval are needed for the activity?
• Establish goals and objectives for the activity. Are the goals and objectives clear and measurable? Do they accurately describe expected outcomes affecting specific performance problems?
• Explain how the activity will facilitate team networking, participation, and productive cooperation. What effect are the outcomes of this activity likely to have on other departments?
• Describe the communication strategies to employ to engage diverse participants. Why are these strategies expected to be successful in this regard?
• Formulate methods to assess individual and team performance. What should be measure? How do these measurements relate to the goals of the activity and expected outcomes?
