I am doing a research study assignment for statistics class.

If I have one interval and one nominal variable would I use an ANOVA? And if so should I use a one-way or two way ANOVA? and do I need an ad hoc test?

If I don't need to do an ANOVA please indicate what statistical test I should consider.

I am not sure which statistical test to use.
