King Construction Company was constructing a wall in a park. The wall was designed so that people visiting the park could sit on the wall and admire the beautiful views the park had to offer. The wall was also intended to keep people safe from falling off a steep edge. King Construction Company started constructing the wall on the east end of the park and was moving westward. Mr. Humpty-dumpty regularly visited the park and watched the wall being constructed. One day Mr. Humpty-dumpty saw that King Construction Company has put up caution tape and construction signs around the west end of the wall but not on the east end of the wall. Assuming that the east end of the wall was complete, Mr. Humpty-dumpty sat on the wall and subsequently fell off leaving a big crack in his skull. King Construction Company saw Mr. Humpty-dumpty fall off the wall and called all of their company first aid workers over to help. The first aid works tried all that they could but were unable to fix the crack in Mr. Humpty-dumpty's head.
Mr. Humpty-dumpty hired lawyers who are acting as the plaintiffs in this case. The plaintiffs are arguing that King Construction Company is liable for Mr. Humpty-dumpty's injuries. King Construction Company hired their own lawyers acting as defendants who claim that the company is not responsible for the injuries sustained.
