Post from classmate:
I choose Apple as an international business. Apple is a well-known company that produces many high-tech items. While most components are sourced from other countries some are manufactured here in the USA. Additionally, the phones are assembled in other countries and then shipped to various countries to be sold.
Apple was originally started in California and was on the brink of bankruptcy until they moved to international business model. Moving to a sovereign country reduced taxes and reduced the laws they had to follow. Many companies look for counties who have the lowest taxes and the most business friendly laws.
Recently, the European Minister of Fiance stopped many countries from offering unfair tax breaks to corporations which will undoubtly effect international business for Apple and many other large corporations.
Just looking at the shipping alone, you are dealing with taxes and fees in each country. They have to work with logistic companies for distribution across the US. Even so the cheap labor and manufacturing in other areas make Apple extremely profitable.
