i am trying to reinstall snort. I am at the step where you edit the configuration file. I think i did the first step right but i cannot find the listing paths.

below are the instructions and what i have so far.

Can you Please point me in the right direction as to the location of the listing path?

In the first section set the following rules to look like the ones below

i. var RULE_PATH /etc/snort/rules

ii. var SO_RULE_PATH /etc/snort/so_rules

iii. var PREPROC_RULE_PATH /etc/snort/preproc_rules

Set your listing paths in the file next

i. var WHITE_LIST_PATH /etc/snort/rules

ii. var BLACK_LIST_PATH /etc/snort/rules
