I believe every organization should have a good HRIS in place to help facilitate things and make HR functions more streamlined. When there are HRIS in place the organization functions better and it is easier to have a checks-and-balances system in case accountability issues should arise. Working for the school system there are many HRIS in place. The Employee Portal is one in which I use on a daily basis. In the EP I can check payroll, attendance issues, change or modify my w-4, and so much more. There are other systems used where I can do my self-evaluations, check mandatory trainings, etc.
