I do feel carbon calculators have a place still, almost more-so than ever. Even with the issues with these large companies not taking responsibility and still emitting huge amounts of emissions, they did have a hand in helping smaller organizations and people understand their role. Something I wish the articles touched on is more solutions to this problem; I can understand cleaner energy and moving away from fossil fuels, but what are the alternatives? More importantly, are people, including companies, going to be able to afford and sustain new solutions? I think a lot of what oil companies do is based on money and the simple fact that it's been done for x-amount of years, and for the most part, it works(ed). I do think that with the younger generation and the progress many have made with bringing these issues to the public, change will come. It will take time, innovation, and understanding of what long term affects can have on the environment. reply a comment
