I do not feel there is a legal issue with bath mouthing your employer. Deffamation and libel are illegal, however negative comments made from personal experience especially if true, are not only not illegal they are protected by freedom of speech. I also do not feel that an employee has a ethical obligation to not bad mouth said company. I feel that every human has the right to speak their truth and express ones self. I feel if they are not a member of leadership or salary employee in a company they have no ethical obligation. Morally perhaps but that's amatter of opinion and choice. I think the ethical obligation comes in with higher level employees and people who represent the company on some level and have signed documents saying they will not defame the company and ect. the kind of contracts that are typiclaly not given to hourly employees. However, Both ethical and legal obligations come with levels of character and responsibility. Much like the ethical theory Virtue, which states that someone must be first taught ethical behaviors to exude them. So in my opinion considering this theory-to expect ethical behavior from someone without first instilling it in them in some way shape or form is Null and void. However the ethical theory Deontology states that essentially what makes an action ethical or non ethical is the approach or means. So in my opinion under this theory, It wasn't the bad mouthing that was unethical it was the approach and the platform chosen
