I go to the National Weather Service website when I want to look up incoming hazardous weather. Being that I am currently in Florida it is prone to strong storms and hurricanes. The NWS website is always up to date and reliable when it comes to weather. It is a government run agency and personally I feel this makes them more credible than other weather sources or apps. The director to NWS, Ken Graham, has been in meteorology since 1994 and has earned many accolades for his success in this career, (US Department of Commerce, n.d). NWS has their main headquarters in Silver Spring, MD, but they also have 6 regional headquarters, local weather forecast offices (WFOs) throughout the United States, 13 river forecast centers (RFCs), and 21 center weather service units (CWSUs), (US Department of Commerce, n.d.). Over 2,000 meteorologists are employed by the NWS. The most up to date technology and tools are used daily to ensure that everyone can receive credible weather information through NWS.
