I have 3 categories that I need to add up in SAS. For example, I have the categories of Candy, Chips, and Snacks. I want to add up the amount each individual eats of all three combined to get the calorie intake.

So if individual one eats 2 candy, 3 chips, and 5 snacks, their total is 8. How would i do that in SAS for a data set of like 5000?

What syntax would I use. I want to get the total of each individual but don't know how to start.
