I have a collection of over 16,000 pieces of music recorded on CDs, LPs and Cassettes.

About 20 or so years ago, a friend at work designed a program for me to keep track of the selections.

He used a system that I do not think exists anymore. (I believe it started with an "D".) About 10 years later, he converted it to Access. Since then, it has stayed on Access through many updates and changes of PCs.

As the years went by, I began to have some problems. Things the program used to do it would not do anymore. I learned to work around the problems, but last night was the last straw. It would not prepare a report that I would then print out. I want someone to take my program and bring it back to the way it functioned at the beginning (or even improve it).

Whether each album has one piece of music or 30 pieces, each piece has its own file card.

Each one lists the recording company, type of recording (CD, LP, etc.), album name, groups, musicians, songs, genre, and other data, which I will discuss in more detail with the programmer. It also keeps track of the recordings I still want to purchase one day.

Many of the categories have a list that continues to grow as I enter new albums, etc. so that after a few keystrokes it fills in the rest of the name. One of the problems is that it has stopped adding new names.
