I have experience with international business.I am a Canadian rep for an American and European company. On occasion I travel to the U.S and Europe to attend sales meetings, conferences and trade shows. In fact, I will be in the U.S for the remainder of this week, hence my early initial post.I am in frequent communication with my U.S counterparts over email, phone and skype to discuss sales and technical details about various customers.

International travel is great for a businessperson on so many levels.Travelling internationally has allows me to becoming more knowledgeable on other countries cultures and traditions. This is an absolutely huge advantage when conducting business in general. There have been many instances, especially working in Canada, where I have met and have had to work with someone from another country.I have been fortunate to do quite a bit of travelling in my time and more often than not I have visited either the country their individual is from or a place they have visited as well. This instantly give me credibility and a good foundation to begin a working relationship with the individual as typically always works in my favour.Do you agree with this argument? why?
