2. Adam and Chris are training for a marathon and want to compare where they stand in their training. Adam ran the Great Race, a 10K (6.2 mile) race where the finish times follow a normal distribution with a mean of 54minutes and standard deviation of 6 minutes. Chris ran in the Run around Shadyside, a 5K (3.1 mile) race where the finish times follow a normal distribution with mean 30 minutes and standard deviation of 5 minutes. Adam ran his race in 45 minutes, Chris ran his race in 26 minutes. Recall that higher times are slower

a.Compute each person's standardized score (show your calculations and a graph for each labeling what you know about the distribution and each runners values). Based on your results, who did "better," Adam or Chris?

b.Use the normal probability table to find the probability that a runner will run the Great Race slower thanAdam. Write the valid probability expression and sketch the probability.

c.What is the probability that a runner will run the 5K faster than Chris? Write the valid probability expression and sketch the probability.

d.If Chris had run the Great Race instead of the Run Around Shadyside, what time would he have to get in order to match is performance in the 5K?
